Papua New Guinea - Independence Day Celebrations

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

1. 'Unity in Diversity - Independence Day Celebrations' - Lying just south of the equator, 160km north of Australia, Papua New Guinea (PNG) is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world with more than 800 languages, tribes and cultures. PNG is a country of colour, contrast and celebration where each tribe is differentiated by the paint on their face, headgears, shell jewelleries and body art. Independence Day celebration is incomplete without traditional costumes, grass skirts, face paint headgears, shell jewelleries and body art.
