My name is Stacy. I am an army brat whose family settled down in the beautifully green state of Oregon. I graduated with a Bachelors in Political Science and Ethnic Studies at Oregon State University. I have worked in Journalism since I was 16 years old, starting with a job shadow at the Oregonian. AAJA sponsored my trip to JCamp in 2001 and UNITY in 2004.
After graduating, I worked for three years in Auto Insurance, handling catastrophic medical injuries (e.g. loss of limbs, fatalities, spinal injuries). I excelled at my job because handling medical claims involve an endless day of interviewing people, taking photos, and finding out the facts.
In 2009, I returned to world of academia when I was accepted into the Communication Master's program at Portland State University. In 2010, I took a year off of school and moved
to South Korea, to learn more about the country I was born in and where my mother's family is from. Now, I'm back in school to finish my Master's and then continue traveling the world.
I love taking photos, especially of a new land and people. I have not traveled a lot, but I know I am blessed to have traveled to the few countries I have made it to. I am respectful of where I have been and have so much love for the new friends that I make along the way. Traveling is great because of how much I learn about the world, but also how much it makes me learn about myself.
