DAY 2 TOYKO IMPERIAL PALACE, ASAKUSA, AZIHABARA, SENSOJI-SHRINE

JAPAN | Tuesday, 3 November 2009 | Views [360]

AFTER A BAD SLEEP AND FREEZINGS TOES AND A LOUD NIGHT OF JAPANESSE PARTIERS IN OUR HOSTEL I WOKE UP AT 5:30AM THERE TIME WITH A VERY SORE THROAT AND LOTS OF AMBITION TO GET OUT AND SEE TOYKO.

OUR FIRST DESTINATION WAS TO THE IMPERIAL PALACE WE HEADED TO THE RAIL STATION AND CAUGHT OUR TRAIN TO THE PALACE. THE RAIL SYSTEM IS A LITTLE HARD TO UNDERSTAND AND KNOW ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH.

ONCE WE GOT THE PALACE WE SAW A FEW TEMPLES AND WALKED AROUND THE IMPERIAL EAST GARDENS THAT WAS FULL OF TRIMMED HEDGES AND KOI FISH. VERY PRETTY.

AFTER THE PALACE WE WONDERDED DOWN THE STREET TRYING TO GET THE TOYKO TOWER (IT IS SIMILIAR TO THE EIFEL TOWER BUT ALOT SMALER AND RED IN COLOUR) ON OUR WALK THERE WE WHERE LOST AND WE WHERE GREATED TWO OFFICERS THAT DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH BUT DID CARRY SOME BIG WEAPONS, WE WHERE IN THE GOVERMENT AREA AND I DONT THINK THEY FELT TO COMFORTABLE WITH US TOURIST WONDERING AROUND AIMLESLY!

WE THEN HEADED TO AKIBURA WHICH IS KNOWN FOR ELECTRONICS , THERE WE STROLLED THE STREETS AND SAW MANY HURIJUKA (CRAZY DRESSED JAPANESSE WOMEN THAT TRY TO SELL YOU TIME WITH THEM TO PLAY BOARD GAMES LOL) THIS STREET WAS PACKED WITH ASIAN LOCALS AND I ONLY SAW ONE OTHER WHITE PERSON THAT DAY,

AFTER AKIBURA WE HEADED TO THE RAIL STATION AGAIN TO HOP A TRAIN TO AKASKA WHERE THE FAMOUS SENJOI TEMPLE IS, WE GOT THERE AROUND 6:00 PM AND IT WAS ALREADY DARK IN TOYKO. WHEN WE GOT THERE WE WELCOMED BUT A AMAZING TEMPLE ENTRANCE AND SHOPS FOR KM'S. THE LIGHTS AT AKASKA WHERE BREATH TAKING AND THE TEMPLES LIGHTED UP WHERE BEAUTIFUL.

AFTER AKIBURA WE HEADED BACK TO THE HOSTEL AS WE WHERE VERY TIRED AND STILL TRYING TO GET USE TO TIME DIFFERNCE!1

AND I HAD A HOT SHOWER THAT MADE WE FEEL ALOT BETTER. AND NOW OFF TO BED TO WAKE UP FOR TSUKAI FISH MARKET AND OTHER SIGHTS OF TOYKO
