My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

During my college education, where I study journalism, I had an opportunity to combine both of my passions: Telling stories in words and images.
I have won couple of awards: 3. FMNS and Euro city photo competition. Since I’m just an enthusiast, my plan is to start a blog about photojournalism.
Big motivation for me came last year when I had chance to attend workshops organized by OEBS and World Press Photo about minority communities. During the class I’ve got familiar with the process of constructing story, handling problems in the field and writing captures. That gave me courage to approach youth organization CK13 and help them to organize similar workshops about socially engaged photography.
The most important thing I learned is not to photograph things, but to photograph about something and that is my motivation for applying for this scholarship. This is a chance to gain new perspectives about photojournalism and to forge my skill in real assignment. With guidance from Janson, inspiring and vibrant cities of Oman I hope to tell come through with all the challenges learning and improving as a photographer as a journalist and as a human.
