My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

I love travelling to remote parts of the world and photographing places which many tourists might never get to see. On a recent trip to the desert, I spent hours photographing sand dunes and the effect wind has on the dunes. Being a very windy day, my photo shoot was very enjoyable. I could see nature at work while I was photographing it. And because of my photographs my friends can now see what I saw out in the desert.
All of these photographs were taken using a point and shoot camera. This camera has changed me over the last few years. I became addicted to photography. What started as a hobby is now a major part of my life. My friends call me a photographer, even though I never owned a DSLR camera. I do not see my point and shoot as a drawback to my photography. It has its flaws, but no camera is perfect.
I am applying for this scholarship as it will give me the experience shooting with a professional photographer and professional equipment. I will learn to use DSLR cameras and take my photography to the next level. I do have a desire to make money as a photographer in the future. This scholarship will be a crash course in photography and will make me a competent photographer.
I enjoy travelling to remote locations around the world. Places where many never go in their life. By having great photography skills, I will be able to capture these locations and help others see what they are missing out on. And maybe even attract tourists to visit remote locations around the world.
