My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Indonesia | Monday, November 7, 2011 | flickr photos

This art school has been here for more than 30 years. Located in West Java, Indonesia, this  particular art school is placed within ITB, Indonesia’s oldest and best technical institute. It is fairly cold throughout the year here because of its geographical position. And surrounded with a proper academical environment, this art school has gained a wide respect nationwide.

Interesting that, even under the name of this institutional giant, the infrastructures it bear doesn’t represent clearly so. But even all those lacks of properness doesn’t stop every single student from creating and experimenting in art. Each one of them will always befriend their own miseries, searching an eloquent exit out of it; or better— they’ll all gather round and conquer those in one firm togetherness. In the end, each person would somehow develop a robust characteristic from this school.

By participating in this contest, I wish to show everyone about how life’s limitations doesn’t really indicate anything. We can’t just surrender under those so-called circumstances. We have to make peace with it and make a catalyst out of it as to build ourselves.

Me too, of course, bear these personal boundaries. Long since my first recognition of photography, I had my first Nikon D40. Quite an amateur start, but that’s not an excuse to blame for a poor photo result. I always believe that camera is only one of the tools to provide stories, impressions through photos; but the nub will always lie within its own photographer.

So if you are searching for a passionate photographer who will climb from the bottom and strive for that, I am here waiting for your call.
