A cool Harley rider roaring past the gates of Istanbul’s Blue Mosque with his long hair whipping behind him.

The moment an elderly bull fight aficionado presented a live chicken to the bullfighter, who had cut two ears that day.

The passionate flamenco dancer click-clacking while she seductively swishes her hips side-to-side with the hem of her polka dotted dress held tightly between her fingers.

I could list endless examples of missed photo opportunities, but these are the ones that continue to waft in and out my memory now and again. I shut my eyes and tell myself to stop being so obsessive. For every missed photo opportunity, I’m sure to have ten pretty great photos, but these will always be the “ones that got away.”

This awareness of my own shortcomings is what drives me to go further and that’s why I want to win this incredible scholarship. The mistakes I make are just killing me, but at the same time, I love everything about the learning process and being able to work with a professional photographer would be incredible. If chosen, I’m confident that I would be a responsive student and a hard worker. I’m an excellent traveler; laid-back, active, and innately positive.
