    The temperature falls below -6 degree Celsius in Sandakhphu at night. This freezes all water bodies present outside. The dew drops which get accumulated on the plants also freeze and become ice crystals. In this photo what seems to be like sugar are actually dew drops which eventually got converted into ice crystals due to the fall in temperature at night. People who live here go through extreme climatic situations that one can only imagine. The only source of fuel is timber which is collected from the woods and stored in order to cook and keep them warm. The people living here have been immune to this extreme weather and can easily work without gloves which for a common man would be next to impossible.
