One camera, many stories

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Australia | Monday, July 1, 2013 | 5 photos

Every time I find myself in a new place I try to understand its vibe; the best way I have of doing it is by taking photographs.
I first landed in Brisbane as a traveller and these photos, shot at different times, all express a facet of this growing and vibrant city, constantly changing and very prosperous. Brisbane appeared to me as a place full of familiar love, hanging in the balance between a wild nature and a strive to modernise; my favourite way of seeing it is in black and white.
I am a 27-year-old Italian girl, curious by nature and fascinated by what I don't know. I started taking photographs because I have always loved their way of telling stories. When I feel sad, worried or just bored, I start looking at the world through my camera's eyes. Through photographs I better understand this world, familiarise with the unfamiliar, and find beauty even where little beauty can be seen.
I do not take photographs only for myself; through my pictures I would love to reach and inspire others, sharing with them the emotions I have captured. There is so much to learn and discover; to be mentored by somebody like Jason would be an invaluable experience.
