My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Since I was a kid I have dreamed of being a photographer for Nat Geo, I would flick through the magazines in awe of the magical images on the pages and still till this day subscribe. What can be better than travelling the world, seeing amazing landscapes, cultures, meeting people & learning! This opportunity presents itself at the perfect time…I was thinking about spending some time in Beirut or India – but Greenland at this time of year is lovely! I have always been passionate about telling a visual story & want to make it more than a hobby. I went back to school a few years ago to do a documentary film course in order to chase my Brother around the outback of Australia for the ‘Gas Dash’ the epic 3day desert endurance race with 200 other petrol heads & that totally confirmed my passion for trying to tell a visual story. Yes, I have lots to learn technically & I want to learn from a great master how to. I love adventure & want to be able to share the experience pictorially as Nat Geo does, when I open the centre foldout & see that image.. it sends shivers down my spine! I just need Jason’s guidance – what an amazing opportunity. I hope you enjoy my fishing trip back home to NZ.
