My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Indonesia | Friday, January 4, 2013 | 5 photos
Billions of tourists come and go to various interesting places all over the year.
Billions of photographs taken with so many interesting points of view, colors, and perspectives.
Billions of nights spent here, there and everywhere visiting many tourist spots and events.
.
There is nothing wrong with those facts, but for me, I am more interested in being a TRAVELER than being a TOURIST.
.
Being a traveler, I see WHAT people does in other part of the world.
Being a traveler, I learn HOW people lives in other circumstances of the life.
Being a traveler, seek WHY people lives the way they live other than me.
The way people lives in their ordinary life (instead of tourism spots), always significantly enriches my perspective about this life. And I keen to share it so that other people would be enriched as well as the way I did.
.
Being a tourist is nice, taking photographs of famous landmarks is great as well.
But being a traveler means mingling with the locals, learning local unique... seeking local wisdom... and share it to the world is having deeper substances and meaning.
.
As for GAWOK MARKET at the edge of SOLO - INDONESIA, it held once every 5 days due to Javanese calendar, the market is more a melting pot than transaction place. This event gave me a set back to several decades ago when local markets are the place where people not just buy and sell, but they interact much more from their heart.

Thank you,
