Late at night in Cartagena, Colombian performers break-dance as tourist stroll by. This is an example of one of Colombia's diverse cultures, the African-Colombian coastal culture. This unique culture derives from the natives that were originally there and the slaves that were brought to the coasts of South America.

While a Playa Banca tour boat idols off the coast of Cartagena, a Colombian islander paddles rapidly toward the boat to collect generous donations from tourists. Fourty five percent of Colombia's population still suffers from poverty but in 2009 five hundred thousand Colombian's came out of extreme poverty says Colombia Reports Online Newspaper.
