Sofia Pimentão

The local wonderment and the curiosity that led me to meet Toy and his way of life, were my inspiration. I believe life is made of singular moments not allways easy to explain.

The greater challenge was to answer that curiosity by living among Toy a small part of his life, so alterwords could be registered the same way I felt it and take to others the emotion of this discovery.

I planned to collect the content in two phases: Firstly I got myself closer to the reality to document, in an anthropological study that has to meet the honesty of my own sensations and discoveries. Then, based on Toy’s routines, I’ve decided the moments to grasp and the availlable equipment to do it.

The Cinema is the comunication form that approaches the most different realities. It´s where I recognize and undesratand my self. It’s where I get to know and understand others. Maybe bacause Cinema allows one not to be a slave of time, throught the caption of ideas and key-moments that may last more than memory.

The movie “Toy” it’s only a moment from an ongoing story that deserves to be told width all purity of it’s originality.
