My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited
Australia | Tuesday, January 1, 2013 | flickr photos
My Grandfather - Sidney Cook - was an early photographer and cinematographer taking some of the earliest films in the world and in Australia. Some say I have his Eyes - and his Eye for photography - I certainly have his passion and interest. - I take photos of what I see - so did he - he astonished people with his photos of the Boer War travelling with journalist Banjo Patterson. Mostly, my own backyard is my inspiration - photography for me has been a lifelong journey and continues to be - ultimately photography is constant learning, changing, growing - no standing still.
Oman would be an adventure and a major part of the lifelong teaching that is photography - taking me on - taking me further than I had ever hoped to go - to zoom in with my Eye, develop, gain greater understanding of the craft of photography and take photos to share, inspire and astonish others - a lifelong journey - a lifetime in the making - in fact two lifetimes in the making.
