Clinging to hope ,i met this young boy at Anghor Wat from a near by village. Few realize it's a life of sacrafice, study and routine for eternal enlightnment . Even as a child, a monk cannot touch a female and havng a comforting hug only a mother can give is forbidden. What nourishment is avaliable can only be consumed between 6am and 12pm. A life without toys, music, games and the same robe he will adorn day in day out untill he is donated another. It's a long road to please Budda and bring honour to the family.

Mystical enlightenment gracefully glides by, echowing shaddows of the past. Anghor Wat Is the largest religous monument on the planet, hidden behind an almost inpenetrable jungle for centuries it was redescovered and is currently being restored to its former glory when the Khmer empire ruled over much of south east asia . Now its a mecca for buddist monks all over Cambodia coming to worship and reconnect with the past , present and future.

Late afternoon on the banks of the West Baray proves to be the hangout for a cool off, as boats rest there oars and take anchor for the night. This vast lake is actually man made in a perfect rectangle surrounded by concrete barriers it was primarily constructed as the main irrigation and water supply for the residents of Anghor Wat. Now days it still puts food on the table for many local families who shuttle toursts arround on the lake and sell their souvenirs.
