My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

USA | Tuesday, July 2, 2013 | flickr photos

A graduate of the beautiful Sonoma Valley High school. I quickly learned my physical and mental limits while I was in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. There I picked up the appreciation of travel and new friends. Afghanistan was where I picked up my first DSLR, and I was able to tell my stories through my photographs. Shortly after leaving the military I was recruited as a Security specialist in Iraq and Afghanistan. There I worked on my documentary style photography. Now I'm done picking up weapons as tools and I use my DSLR to shout visual stories. I participate in many back country parachuting activities. I try to show and tell stories about the very adventurous activities I participate in. In B.A.S.E. jumping, shortly after the last jumper makes that leap, I pack down my DSLR and make that very leap my self. Whether it be a building in down town San Francisco, or the Alps of Switzerland, I'm there to capture that shot. This travel photography scholarship would be a turning point in my amateur photography career. I would use what I learn from these mentors to show the world more unique stories of the lessons I take away from this workshop. Thank you
