Philly OutFest 2013

We are Kristine and Susan, best friends since the day we met.
We look for any excuse to dress up ridiculously, and we are both strong supporters of gay-rights, so what better festival to film than Philly OutFest. Philly OutFest is a day long block party in Philadelphia celebrating National Coming Out Day. It's the largest of its kind, bringing over 30,000 people to Philly's famous Gaybourhood. Its a day full of music, drag performances, dancing, and rainbows, but most of all, it's a day of love. Where everyone can be open about their sexuality and not be judged. Where love is love, no matter who it's with.
We are completely new to filmmaking. Susan got a DSLR camera only 3 months ago and has been addicted to making videos ever since. This is our first video that we filmed and edited together. We have been doing art our entire lives and think filming (especially travel adventures and new cultures) would be our perfect job. Winning this scholarship would mean the world to us. Having a personal mentor for ten days would be the most amazing learning experience. And we could do it in New Orleans--the most amazing city in the world! It would be a dream come true!
