My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Worldwide | Saturday, October 16, 2010 | 5 photos
The five photos I have selected showcase the beauty and diversity of the Buddhist religion. These photos were taken on my trusty compact camera during a 3 month independent trip of Southeast Asia. I found the whole trip truly amazing and was in awe of the amazing scenery and was touched by the warmth of the locals. I found my experiences with practicing Buddhists unforgettable and I believe that I have highlighted the beauty of this religion and its people in these five photos.
While travelling throughout Southeast Asia I was continuously amazed at the beauty of this religion and its people. I was, and continue to remain inspired by the principles of Buddhism, where followers are encourage to be fully responsible for their lives and to develop the qualities of wisdom and compassion. Nothing is fixed or permanent, actions have consequences, and change is possible. Buddhism is not about teaching or learning, but about experiencing.
I have a strong passion for travel and for photography. I could think of nothing better then two combine these two passions and share these moments in time with the greater community. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, I believe they are worth so much more!
