My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

I am Sharon Lewin and this is my story.
Born in Sydney and raised on the Gold Coast. Growing up I played music and sports from an early age. I played violin, piano, trumpet, tennis, and golf throughout my childhood. How I managed to do everything at once I do not know but it kept me busy and off the street. Golf led me to playing collegiately in the United States where I earned my degree in Business. My passion for outdoors does not see me working behind a desk. I have always worked in the golf industry and this year I found that I needed a change in career paths. I decided to travel with a friend to Canada where I found a new passion for photography. I am a perfectionist with my work whether it was playing violin or hitting the perfect shot on the golf course, I now find this no different in taking photographs where I am not satisfied if I don’t achieve the outcome I desire.
2010 is a year of change for me and this scholarship is the perfect opportunity for me to change my direction in life. With this opportunity I would be able to show others how I see the world from my eyes and my love for the outdoors. I hope to inspire others to explore the world around us and open their eyes to the beauty amidst the chaos.
This set of photos were taken on an unplanned road trip from Banff to Jasper in May 2010 except the first photo at Lake Louise which I returned to in September when the lake was not frozen to see the beauty in a different form. These are my travels and the way I saw the natural environment of the Icefields Parkway.
