My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Most of my life, I have listened to society. Go to college, get good grades, have a steady income. I followed the rules and became a nurse. Why? I chose nursing because I was confused in college and a computer program told me I should be one. Brilliant!
The first time I was truely excited about my career was when I heard about travel nursing. Someone would send all over the country to work? I could not wait to sign my name on that dotted line! It was not until that point that I had discovered my first passion. Travel.
My passion for photography did not enter my life until 3 years later. A friend invited me on a trip to New Zealand and I ended up spending the entire time trying to capture the beauty we kept encountering. So, by the time me and my little camera got home with over 10,000 photos, I knew I had missed my calling.
Now, anytime I am not at work saving lives, I am out on some hike, sitting on the edge of some cliff, waking up before the sun, and leaving after it is dark just for the opportunity to capture that moment worth a thousand words.
Hopefully through my photos, I will inspire another to follow their dream. That is my hope.
