My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Worldwide | Tuesday, August 17, 2010 | 4 photos
Photography is what keeps me sane. I've always had a passion for finding the beauty within the mundane and discovered that photography was a wonderful way to do so.
I work full time as a picture framer and find that photography is not only a great artistic outlet, but a constructive way to relax. I am currently saving to pursue my dream of traveling and exploring the photographic opportunities the world has to offer.
The four images I have submitted encapsulate the type of lifestyle I am surrounded by. I have lived in a small town by the beach my entire life and am constantly amazed by the ever-changing scenery. Although i have captured the journey along the boardwalk to the ocean featured in "To Kiss the Sun" many times, I find that each photo portrays a unique quality of Australian seaside living.
Personally, I believe that photography is far more that just a means of recording a moment in time, but rather a way of communicating how you see and experience the world around you.
Since the day I picked up my camera, my knowledge of photography has continued to grow. I find it extremely important that I never stop learning and continuously challenge myself to improve. Although i may not be the most technical photographer out there, I am extremely passionate about what I do and am always willing to learn.
This opportunity provided would be an amazing way to begin the dreams I have of living as a photographic journalist and exploring the world I am so fortunate to be a part of.
