Happiness under the dirt

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

India | Thursday, July 4, 2013 | 5 photos

I was lucky enough to visit lots of places trough Asia, Europe, America, and Oceania, building my life as an endless travel. Watching and taking photos has always been a therapy, a way to imagine how the world looks like, escaping the life routine. As a 24 years old Architect globe trotter, I am interested in unexpected meeting, and discovery.
Proportion or light, all the matter is to have a 2D rendering of multisensory reality. Sitting, standing, waiting for hours to get the perfect light, atmosphere, or just get surprised by a face expression. I am always looking for places with stunning nature landscape, but also places impacted by human footprints. I backpack and couchsurf the world to gather information and experiences, making my own reportages, about slum spread in Mumbai, irrigation system in Japan, or local life in the Annapurna.
I recently quite my Architecture job, and I am moving back to Australia this winter, to get totally involved into photography and travel reportage. This scholarship is a lifetime opportunity for me to learn from Jason Edwards, from a technical and creativity point of view, and bring my photography skill to a professional level
Regards,
David Deroo
