My Photo scholarship 2011 entry
Colombia | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos
This photography session was a 24 hour Project in which I went with my cousin to a location several miles north of Bogotá, where I currently live. This place, Suesca, is a park famous for the rock climbing sites. However, the landscapes and the possibility of remarkable pictures were the reason my cousin and I went on this trip. The pictures I have submitted are a representation of the 24 hour period the trip lasted. Time in which I had to use a variety of techniques depending of the location, the objective of the picture, and the feeling I was trying to evoke on the viewer.
I think I deserve to be on this trip for several reasons; the first is my love for photography. In school, every chance I had I submitted photography as my elective class, and the free time I had I would spend in the dark room developing and growing as a photographer. The classes gave me the bases to develop my personal style, but it was by investigating with tutorials and lots of time behind the camera that I developed the techniques I used in this session. The second reason is my intention to study social communication; emphasis in photography with environmental and social components, and this trip would be an extremely valuable lesson for my future work. Finally, my physical condition and my ability to connect with all kinds of people would greatly enable me to get the most out of this experience.
I hope you enjoy my pictures =)
