It was late afternoon when my team arrives in Bang Nong Puan Tek School in Kaeng Krachan, Petchaburi and welcomed by a very generous smile and super delicious homemade Thai food. You will never being able to ignore your saliva to drop whenever you see the Green Curry with warm rice waving sexily to your near to empty tummy. It is just a normal village, we found traditional house and even met the oldest people in the village with wrinkles smile of her ninety plus years old. Steps by steps brought us to a field with a superb smelly Pigsty where we can see a nearly evening sun shines warmly in a clear blue sky. The clouds was amazing, abstract yet awesome far away up there, and here down on earth I amazingly enjoying this scene with a group of lavender and a view of mountain miles away.
It has been dark outside while we are going out again. The clear blue sky has turned to be a sea of sparkles. Millions stars sparkling along dark sky backgrounds. There is only a word of “Sugoooiii….” In a rock version that accompany our step along with the insects rhythm. It is so sad remembering that times flies to fast but there is always a brand new better day begun and we found all of us woke up with an excitement to face this day. A warm breakfast was ready for us and we are ready to professionally meet the students as well. I saw hopes and happiness on those eyes, and everything started. The class begins with a traditional Indonesian folk game and flowing through explanation and quizzes. I see a smile in a very innocent yet proactive face. We taught them basic words in Indonesian, Japanese, Mandarin and English and they are enthusiastically pay attention. Whenever question offered there will always small hands up to try, and of course got the prize. It was so simple, but we hope they will realize one thing. There will always possibility whenever you want to try harder and just accept the challenges. They are young and sweet, and the circumstances where they belong will never be an obstacle.
Time flies even faster and we realized it is time to leave. We will have our new housing to stay since staying in school is not that convenient for some people. The part of the day I hate the most, farewell. Hugs as an unspoken expression and a letter with big heart written in Thai language for their cute stranger teachers given as a gift. It is hard to leave but life must go on. The bus is coming with a smile for saying goodbye that letting me know, their prayer be with us.
