Left Buenos Aires..into patagonia

It was definitely hard to leave ba. But if i didnt it would compromise my timetable of being in santiago, chile for new years eve. And i have a lot to see before that, ie patagonia. BA nightlife and the culture in the hostel i was staying at has a way of keeping people in ba. But now i am in puerto madryn, argentina. Which is like 16 hours south of ba. About halfway between ba and the southern most tip of south america.

The bus trip wasnt that bad actually, much better than my 12 hour flight to ba. I got the 2nd tier bus class and its like 1st class in international flights, the seats almost sit parralell to ground. I slept for a good 6'8 hours on the bus and watched 2 movies, constantine and 12 monkeys. The scenery down here was pretty amazing, felt a bit like home but on a much bigger scale. It reminded me of a sw kansas. Except that its just on a much larger scale. I saw wheat, corn, and soybeans, but not much. And lots of grass pasture, but there was only one road through this so it felt like being in the 1800s in the mid'west. Old adobe like homes, cowboys, and huge spaces.

Puerto madryn is pretty small, ate an amazing 3 dollar pasta dish which i´ll be alble to eat again tonite. We´re on the ocean and the ocean breeze is strong and very cold. Tomorrow i´m going to go on a bit of a bikeride around town and then catch another bus to rio gallegos, which is another 16 hour ride but then only 5-8 hours from USHUAIA, the southernmost city in the world.
