My Scholarship entry - Tradition Savior
India | Monday, November 24, 2014 | 5 photos
I have been born and brought up in the laps of majestic Himalaya. Seeing people and their connection with nature always fascinated me. The unique living structure as well as socio-economic aspects of the people living here drawn my curiosity towards other culture, communities, tradition and natural balance.
As I started growing up and started looking far and wide, I found human existence has some basic similarities that one can find in any culture or community. After my Post Graduation in Photography from National Institute of design my vision and understanding furthered towards the other socio-culture, socio-economic and socio-political facts that exist in our world. I found photography as a very strong tool and a medium to communicate.
I exclusively did an in-depth research and worked on a photo documentary about Handicrafts (Uttarakhand, India) this journey led me to other different aspect all that are associated with craft culture and its tradition. I am still working on Documentation of Indian Handicraft and culture.
I always try to take forward my pictures in another level that tells some story then just shoot and showcase the picturesque.
