I came to New Zealand in June 2011. When I first visited Christchurch I felt a connection to this city and its people. Cantabrians have a pride in their city, and a belief even though it was and still has a long way to go from shambles, that it can become better than it ever was before. It is this faith that they can make it better which attracts me to this place.
Yes, of course I like people to see my imagery, most importantly I have to enjoy my images, I am a very critical person. I have to have a visual honesty in my images, focus, detail and depth. I want my photographs to be something I can live with, things to keep me occupied, whether it be the intricate beauty of a daisy or the compositional depth of a landscape.
The essay I present to you are five images. Images which express what I see and what I have learned and felt about the spirit of Christchurch.
