2.The Kathmandu Valley is a place of intense religious devotion. Here a man offers butter lamps and incense to Kal Bairab. Thousands of devotees worship him and other deities daily at the numerous shrines and temples of the Durbar Square.

1. The Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of seven World Heritage locations in the Valley. It is not only the site of centuries old temples and royal palaces but also a thriving economic center. The main area is often open only to pedestrians as depicted here with a group of sari clad Brahma Kumari religious devotees and a lone cyclist.

3.Thousands of pigeons nest in the ancient temples and nearby houses and it is customary for both local people and tourists to feed them.
