My Scholarship entry - Passion

High school was when I first found my love for photography, I spent all my time working in the darkroom developing images or on the computer editing through digitals. Naturally when it came college time I knew I wanted to go for photo. So this past May I walked the stage, I graduated college with my four year degree in photo, ready to take on the real world with my very expensive piece of paper to prove it. Unfortunately nearing the end of my degree I began to realize I had lost some of my passion for photography. College was a parasite that some how implanted the idea that everything had been done before so why do it. Shooting started feeling like a chore because I was afraid to be stupid or unoriginal. Still in college I started questioning myself, is this really what I want to do, did I make a mistake. I racked my brain contemplated dropping out just switching to business or something safe. But I came to the conclusion if I did anything else for the rest of my life to make a living id be miserable, I love photography. So after graduation I planned a trip to help inspire myself again, traveling alone with a group of strangers out of country for the first time, to Israel.
