There are rural parts of the country where white man is still a curiosity. Adults just smile and wave, only children are brave enough to approach.

All children attend public school where school uniform is obligatory. The orphanage provides them with the help of donations which largely come from former volunteers.

After spending all day at regular school, children come running into the orphanage classroom for their English lesson. Many of them want to spell words even during playtime, as if at such young age they are already aware of the importance of education in order to rebuild the nation after the horrors of the Pol Pot regime.
