Experiencing Heaven.

INDIA | Tuesday, 25 October 2011 | Views [305]

Leh is a city in Ladkah region and is in Jammu & Kashmir state. Leh is very like a main town of Ladakh. And I went to Leh expedition with Milestone enterprises and Smart Photography Magazine.

On 26th august 2011. I had my flight to Chandigarh. This was the first trip that I was doing alone.... means I had alone with the group members. No brother, no guardian. No one...so I was bit disturbed. As I landed to Chandigarh we went to press club, at there I met all my group members.

That day only we went to Manali. We spend two days there. Actually now manali is like a city, were you will find anything, but it's a fun too.

After that on 29th august 2011 we left for Leh. It takes two days to reach Leh. The road distance is approx. 496 KM. and we decided to cut the first day on 248 KM. at Sarchu.

Sarchu is a place that everyone should enjoy it at least once in a life. That night was freezing cold. Me and my friend Jegan went outside the tent to click star trails...around 11 PM. and it was almost -2 degrees that night was the worst night I ever had in my life.

Then next day that is 30th Aug. we moved to Leh. As we hit Leh everyone started looking here and there.... everyone was tired few minutes before we enter Leh, but as we hit the city everyone started feeling energy of Leh.

On 31st  Aug. we went to famous 'Thikse Monastery', were a famous huge 2 floor size, Golden platted Buddha's statue is located. The important thing about that is you can't cover the whole statue even with a 10mm wide-angle lens. Same day we went to very famous 'Khardungla' its world's highest moterable road...Height is 18,300 feet above the sea level. It is the best experience to go there and enjoy the heaven view.

Sept. 1st was the day that we all were looking for. On 1st Spat. Famous Ladkah Festival begins. Ladakh Festival is also known as Festival of colours (In ladkah). There were more than 30 thousand people who came there not only from India but also from other states of the World. If you are Portrait Photographer then you will go crazy in it.

Next morning that means on 2nd Spat. We went to 'Pang-Gong lake' .The Crystal clear salty water shines in many shades of blue depending upon its depth. It literally changes shades with sunlight. With a backdrop of mountains of various hues and colors, it is a sight for the Gods. At an elevation of 4300 meter, the air is cool even in summers at Ladakh. Pangong Lake is about 4 Km wide on the average and at least 136 Km long. The extent of the known portion is, therefore, upwards of 250 square miles (400 sq km) or about the same size as the holy lake of Mansarovar.

On 3rd slept. We left Leh and started our journey back. But this trip gave me such a wonderful experience of all kinds. I really thank all the people who were with me and made my trip more wonderful.
