My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Around July 2009, I took on photography as a hobby; it quickly became transformed into a burning passion. Prior to this hobby, I never would have thought there would be any jobs that would make me happier than being a mining engineer, a rewarding industry I’ve worked in for the last ten years. Through photography I have found a different reward that cannot be matched with a $180k salary. Words cannot express the joys I feel when out in the field taking pictures. What is even more joyful & rewarding for me is the look of happiness when people view my work. The last few years it occurred to me that being a National Geography Travel Photographer would be my ultimate dream. If chosen for this scholarship, you will have my full dedication on the job. It will be an invaluable experience, making contacts with people in the industry & needless to say, learning from the professional. I’m in perfect health & physically very fit & know that whatever environment I’m thrown in, I can handle. I work 12hr days, so long days work does not faze me, after all, if it’s something that you love time goes by effortlessly. Thank-you for taking the time to review my application.
