Buenos Aires

Hola from Buenos Aires.  This city is gorgeous.  It reminds me of Paris, meandering down the Champs Elysees and through narrow streets with beautiful tall buildings on either side adorned with elaborate balconies and stonework.  Today we spent the afternoon in one of the many parks.  We hired a pedelo on the lake and watched people jogging and rollerblading around us! I even had a shiatsu massage on the grass under a tree!

Yesterday, following an arty moment at the fine art gallery, rubbing shoulders with Monet, Degas, Van Gogh and Sisley (well nearly) We treated ourselves to the most delicious Italian meal ever.  A bottle of wine and 3 courses for 25quid set us up perfectly to be dragged into an amazing shopping mall.  Oh it was raining!!  Armani Jeans and a couple of other bags later and I was finally nearly happy again to have had some retail therapy.  Travelling with a man is quite difficult of a girl, used to shopping and sisters and very girly friends.

So I know you are all wondering........Tango...... No, I haven´t got Nigel`s spaghetti legs under control yet and he hasn`t broken another bone in his foot!!  We are booked in for a class next week but for now the closest we`ve come is a seeing a show.  It is a coooooool dance!

As for our accommodation.  We have found a brilliant little hostel, opened a few months ago it is called the `Garden House Art Factory` and is designed by a modern artist.  Our room has a very realistic picture of a shopping trolley on the wall and bright blue strips!  The common room is red with interesting paintings on the walls and four 5 foot lamps hanging from the glass roof.  Pretty impressive.  A good find at 15 pounds a night!

Well that's all for now.  Football tomorrow night, River Plate v San Lorenzo, and then we are hoping to get out to Gaucho Land for a couple of days and find our cowboy spirit.  Will keep you posted.

B.A. sounds just the best place to be. Clever you finding such a stylish place to stay. Now to the serious business of the tango! Michael tells me that he used to dance the tango excellently and so is looking forward to seeing your demonstration with an informed eye.

Love you both, Mum
