Revisiting the "Center of the Earth" - Iceland's Snaefellsnes Peninsula

The following photo story is about a trip to Snaefellsjökull volcano in Iceland that I went on in April 2012.

Sander Jain - born and raised in Germany, I left my home country in 2008 to follow my love of wild places and urge to live a life in tune with nature by relocating to Tofino on the remote west coast of Vancouver Island, CA. Inspired by a stunning habitat composition of ancient temperate rainforest, the Pacific ocean, labyrinths of fjords, islands, mountains and river valleys, all teaming with wildlife, I started combining my love of outdoor adventure with my fascination of visual arts and began pursuing my dream of becoming a photographer and sea kayak guide. My passion for the wilds and Natural History, the mystical beauty of our biosphere, the challenge of nature expeditions as well as my interest in communicating through aesthetic visual language drive my ambition. My photography centers around Travel/Outdoor/Expedition photojournalism and has so far focused on the Canadian west coast and Iceland.
Assisting and receiving mentorship from Jason Edwards on assignment in Greenland would be a unique chance for me to get insight into the world of professional photography in a region and in a field that perfectly suit my personal interests, focuses and ambitions on my path to become a professional travel photographer.
