My Scholarship entry - Smoking in Indonesia

A wise, old man once said, “Life is an experience. The more you have, the more you live.”
I live my life on that philosophy. Partly because I am that wise, old man.
I am 32. So, it’s natural to assume that my youthful sense of wonder must be behind me.
That notion changes the minute you see me with a towel around my neck, jumping on the beach screaming ‘Superman!’
My day job (often stretching into the night job) is writing ads for an ad agency.
I love writing, the work is fun on most days and it buys beer.
So, things are good.
Except, I really, really love photography too.
Photographs help me tell stories words can’t.
And I love traveling.
I have long fantasized about how great it would be if I could marry these 3 loves of mine.
Now, that would be a great way to live. And to make a living.
When I am having that much fun I am pretty sure something of value will come out that will make this world a bit more beautiful.
I want to learn to do this better. Working with Jason on a National Geographic assignment (whoa, it even sounds so awesome!), apart from great learning, will be a phenomenal experience.
And that’s what I live for.
