My Scholarship entry - In the lands of the Turkana people
Kenya | Tuesday, November 18, 2014 | flickr photos
I am PhD student working on the shores of lake Turkana in NW Kenya, where I am investigating the development of the East African Rift System. What interested me about geology in the first place was that it was a ticket to explore some of the most remote places on the globe. Already in my short career, I have had the amazing opportunity to interact and befriend people from many different cultures and nationalities that I would otherwise not have been able to meet. It is through these experiences, far away from home and submerged in cultures very different from my own, that I have learned most about nature, our species and myself.
