My Scholarship entry - 3 months in India

Australia | Thursday, November 20, 2014 | 5 photos

I was once asked why I travel. And although my answer is long it is relatively simple. I travel to open my mind to new possibilities, hopes dreams and desires. I travel to see more than what is right in front of me. I travel to overcome my fear of growing old and never leaving one place, never knowing or truly understanding what is out there and what I am capable of. I live for the experiences that determine who I am and force me outside of my comfort zones. I crave the feeling of getting lost in the streets of a city I have never been before. I am eager to learn and experience everything the world has to offer me I want adventure excitement and beauty.

It is often a misconception that when you are taking photographs you are never really seeing. Photography challenges me to see. To look. To find beauty in the everyday and discover things that would otherwise go overlooked. I use photography as a way of viewing my world. I want my photos to make an impact, to inspire change and instil a desire to travel. Nothing scares me more than a generation that never leaves their home town; a generation that thinks what is on a computer screen is all that the world has to offer them.
