My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have been passionate about photography for as long as I can remember. I broke my piggy bank when I was just 11 years to buy my first camera. My parents never understood my fascination for photography let alone spend their hard earned cash on a camera.
Three years ago, I felt it was time to take my love for photography to the next level and bought my very first DSLR, it remains to be one of my best buys to date.
Being in between jobs for the last 10 months, photography has become my safe haven.
With my camera, I see the extra in the ordinary. I capture the emotions that would ordinarily go unnoticed. With my camera, I am reminded that we can decide how to view life, despite our circumstances.
To win this scholarship will not only give me the opportunity to learn from the best, but it will also reaffirm my message to my community that one can actually get joy, satisfaction and rewarded for following their passion. However, my greatest satisfaction will come from being able to go back to the Biker Boys and telling them that their story, won me a scholarship.
By entering this competition, I hope to inspire them and the community at large to pursue their passions.
