My Scholarship entry - Understanding a Culture through Food

WORLDWIDE | Monday, 23 April 2012 | Views [210] | Scholarship Entry

I will tell you an interesting story of a day dreamer. It was I. We are a family of five in a culture where men have superiority over women. Hardly leaving the four walls of our home, I always dreamed of travelling places. Initially it was the hills of Himalayas, later the islands of Maldives and Bora Bora, as I grew up so did my dreams. I first travelled to India and tasted rather relished the flavors there. The magnificent rich culture awakened in me a need to diarize every place I visited and make special notes of all unique experiences. I felt the need to share my experiences with people who love to travel. Although I have been to a lot of countries, I still feel a thirst to go around the world and share with people my adventures; I still daydream of fascinating new places, new cultures and roaming the highs and lows, talking to locals and hear new dialects. People, cultures and foods never seize to amaze me, even manmade creations. I hope to pen my experiences in a manner that touches the heart of travel lovers.
