Me at School My story when I was a child at school until I grow up with hopes and lots of imaginations about my future.

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Afghanistan | Friday, June 28, 2013 | 5 photos

I started school with support of my family, to learn English in various institutions in 2001, which helped me, get a job as an interpreter. I started working with the US Army, and finally joined the War Child UK NGO as a project officer. In my job, I helped Afghan children, victims of war, and tribal communities. These activities included working with social and legal issues, field visits, and consultations.

I love to produce documentaries and take pictures about Afghans’ lives and customs. People around the world have a bad image of Afghanistan due to a lack of positive media coverage in this war-torn region. Therefore, I want to be the one who changes the world’s perception on of my country through photography.
Life has changed my attitude toward most of the problems which plague my country. On this dark road, flashes of light are shinning, each having a different meaning for me. One shows me the experiences I have gained during these years, and the other helps to define my abilities in a better way. I desire to change all of these negative perceptions of my country with my years of experiences and efforts that is why I am applying for this program to build my capacity.
