Desert dwellers in Tunisia.

Tunisia | Monday, January 14, 2013 | 5 photos

Ever since I remember I expressed myself in images. My first self-portrait was a brightly coloured portrait of me travelling on an old railroad track to the moon, with only a weathered suitcase for company. This prophetic image inspired me to leave the wild and beautiful wilderness of South Africa to go and explore Europe’s wonderful rich art history and culture.
In Europe, my eyes were opened to a new world of imagery which made me to swap my beloved sketchbook for my first film camera. Since then my camera became my sketchbook. The camera has evolved into my breath of freedom, and has inspired me to adventure, experiencing different cultures, beliefs, tastes and nature around the world. Why do I believe in photography? Photographs for me are a memento of life’s moments and a good photo keeps the moments from running away. While my passion is photography, I have however never had any formal training, so I maintain my learning focus through books . With your help I can gain strength, courage, confidence in my photography and learn how to keep those moments from escaping the frame. My dream is to take one simple frame that transforms the minds of National Geographic readers.
