About safrilaceh
My name is Safril and I was born on December 28 1988 in Aceh. I
come from Indonesia and I am as a student at Syiah Kuala University of Aceh in
English department. I want to be a teacher and there are many reasons why I should be
enrolled. Firstly, I am a friendly, sociable person, hard working and dedicated
student. Secondly, I am a friendly, sociable person. I have big family and I
love it so much. My mother and father are my inspirations in my life, because the
biggest role of parent is giving the education to their children and I am the one
of children who educated and growth in big family to face Globalization Era.
The education in our family has the biggest role in going through your live and
being an independent man is one lesson that still impact in my live. To be a
real youth in Globalization Era is not only studying in University, but my
principle is being a part in some organizations is the way how to be a real
youth. Now, I am active in various organizations which involve in Education,
Tourism, Art and Culture, Politics and Sociality. I realize that I pick a lot
of advantages both of education in university and organization. The spirit and
inspire that I have suppose me to become a real youth which gives benefit for
my family and a lot of people around. Living in Globalization Era expects us to
be a strong youth and learning is the best solution to cross the globe. Both
Writing and browsing are the ways that I apply in my live, the place where I
live is one of progressive places in Indonesia which is Aceh. In
short, Aceh is historic town. Here, I want to tell you my shortly
experiences in two years (2011-2012). First,
“Language Ambassador of Aceh”
Language Ambassador is a competition which involved in cultural mission. The
participants were from many parts of Regency in Aceh and the languages tested
were Acehnese language, Indonesia language and English. The test divided in
some parts and took place about two days. First day, all participants were
tested language skill, orally and writing. The final day all participants would
be tested art and culture performance, group discussion and interview. In art
and culture performance, I performed the Aceh traditional dance called SAMAN
and traditional dance of Bali called KECAK. Art and culture performance were
not difficult test for me, because I am a dancer in Aceh and I have a practice
class in Aceh right now, called Rampoe. Unpredictable, I got the highest score
for art and culture performance. The last, the judges announced the winner of
this competition and I was the winner.“ Student
Ambassador of Aceh” which is also a great competition that were participated whole students in Aceh. The participants would be tested in
some parts. Such as: General knowledge, health knowledge and art and culture
performance. The last day of the test was art and culture performance, all
participants had to perform an art on the stage. SEUDATI and SAMAN were my
choices to perform. After performing, two judges asked me about
"understanding a culture through food" and the last judge asked me to
perform again. Ratoh Duek was my choice. After all tests done, the judges
announced the winner of this competition and I was the first runner up. The journey doesn’t stop here,
because these are not only competitions. The Ambassadors must be able to
implement the programs in group to success the programs. The programs involved
in sociality, culture and health. That's why I am so interested in some
competitions. Indonesia Korea Youth
Exchange Program (IKYEP), which’s a great program for youths and all over
regencies in Indonesia participated. The most interesting program that I have
ever participated in this year and the test is now so different among Language
and Student Ambassadors. Mastering English language is the main requirement
than speech, art and culture performance and interview. The winner of this
competition will fly to Korea to do some IKYEP’s program. I got a lot of
experiences in this, but I was as the runner up of the winner.
The reason why I should win this scholarship
is: I think I deserve this scholarship, because I have great descriptive ability,
strong eye for detail, ability to uncover and tell a compelling story good and
writing is my hobby. The scholarship gives many benefits for me, all
participants and a lot of people in the world. To win this scholarship is my
ambition and this is a great chance for me to prove that I can be a good
writer. To be a writer is one’s of many ways to be a success people, because
writing is only the skill but it’s an invention. The greatest invention of all
must be surely writing, it’s not just one of the foundations of civilization. By
capturing ideas in physical form, it allows us to travel across space and time
without distortion. The last, I want to say many thanks to Travel Writing
Scholarship to Southeast Asia for giving me chance to participate in this
program.
