I’m 38 years old, the mother of two boys aged 12 and 15, currently working at the Norwegian Directorate of Integration and Diversity. My deepest passion is travelling. My ancestors were sailors so the urge to see horizons and hear foreign languages runs in my veins. My camera is my mission, my legitimate reason to travel. It is also when I travel I develop and practice my skills. I’m drawn to the fact that as human beings we are all alike, but living in such a vast variety of environments we adapt differently resulting in a great diversity of languages, clothing, food, architecture, behaviour etc. My aim is to capture stories about people and their lives, moods and emotions. I honestly believe that travelling accelerates acceptance, tolerance and respect. Bringing back stories through my photography I wish to contribute to these values. Being self taught in photography and always travelling alone I deeply miss someone to guide me, encourage me, to push me further and to give feedback. I want to develop my skills on portraiture, documentary and landscape photography. One day I hope travel photography is my life. Winning this competition brings me one step closer to this dream.
