My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Saturday, September 18, 2010 | flickr photos

Code River is one of rivers in Jogjakarta, Indonesia. Code is divided into three parts, north, central and south. These photos was taken in central Code. This residency were built by YB Mangunwijaya or Romo Mangun in 198’3. Romo Mangun built the houses which rich in color and graffiti, although the area had limited space. Here is the story of the riverside houses and people activities in Code River.

Many interesting things that I found in this small place. And my photos are showing their daily activities. They are religious people, but everybody likes to sleep anywhere. They love playing in the river, children mostly. And they are cooking outside the house using traditional barns. They have simple life, but happy.

To be a traveler photographer is my dream. This world is my passion; travel, photography and also writing. There are many beautiful places in the world to see and capture so I can share to everybody in the world. To fulfill my passion, sometimes I travel to the new places. However, I only visit the nearer place to my hometown, because it would not cost much. I don’t have much money to visit many and far places. After I traveled, I wrote about my trip with the photos and published to the blog.

So, I want to be a professional traveler photographer. Therefore, I have a great hope to this scholarship for starting my career in this field. I will learn lot of things in this scholarship, to grow my photographic skills; to capture everything. I am ready to go anywhere. The Kingdom of Bhutan is one of the places that I really want to go, before many people are going there. Bhutan has a beautiful scene and rich in culture. I will not miss the opportunity given by World Nomads, because being a traveler photographer is my life for today, tomorrow and the future.
