My name is Ryan Smith. I live on the Gold Coast, Australia. I'm 23 years old and have been taking photos as a hobby for roughly 5 years now. However, it's become more of a way of life than a hobby. I don't leave the house without at least one camera on me. I'm forever spending weekends and any holidays I am granted in search of new destinations and new vantage points to get photos that no one else has captured. I want to get to areas people don't usually get to, I want to document every inch of my travel and bring it to light to make people aware of the world that is around us, which people all too often take for granted and let life pass right on by. Greenland has long been on my list of 'must see' destinations. The scenery on offer seems to be almost unparalleled. I feel that I should be chosen because I feel that in terms of travel photography my dedication and determination to get that unique shot is second to none. Although I currently do not get any real (paid) work out of photography, it is my dream to do so, and I think an opportunity like this would definitely be a confidence boost and possibly the start of much bigger things to come.
