My Scholarship entry - Colourful Corfu

I am a 24 year old Canadian who discovered a passion for travel and photography at the same time. Coming up almost a year ago, I bought my first DSLR and a one way ticket to Europe. I did a total of nine months in Europe, both living in Ireland and travelling through the rest of the continent. I have more than 9000 photos to go through still, because as I would post more online for friends and family, the more compliments I received. I use most ways of sharing my photos by using a Facebook page, Instagram, WordPress, and Flickr. The compliments and "likes" across my social media platforms drives me to take better photos. I can see a noticeable difference of improvement from when I first started my trip in Iceland to when I ended in Germany. I love travelling and taking photos makes you see a place in a total different perspective. I take the extra step to stand above the normal "tourist" photos and try to make myself known as a photographer/backpacker and not a tourist My skills are still evolving and the next step I'd like to take it to upgrade my equipment and find a way I can earn income with my photos.
