I have a family of storytellers. A grandfather who wrote books, a great-grandmother who sang professionally, and an uncle who builds houses. I can’t sing or build a house, but I’m a decent writer and love taking photos and talking about it.

A traveller for most of my adult life, I’ve always strived to capture the emotion I felt in the moment through my photos. The spray of cool water, the warmth of the setting sun, I always asked myself, “How can I capture this in a single instance?” Even if it meant staying put long past when my travelling companions had moved on. I’d love to take that passion and learn from Jason how to really do this.

I hope to become a better photographer and gain an understanding of what it takes to create something that anyone can connect to. I currently work for an online travel company, but would like to be the one doing the travelling more often. I believe photography can help me achieve this.

I would then like to take that skill and share it with others. Whether it is by showing them my photos, or passing on some of the knowledge I will get from Jason; there is nothing more satisfying then telling a good story and knowing the other person understands.
