I believe that I am the perfect fit for this scholarship because photography is not only a hobby or passion of mine... it is a way of life. Photography is something that allows me to escape my world and become an individual... photography is a way for me to express myself in more than just words, it inspires me to be different. Not a moment goes by where I don't think of taking pictures or dream about being somewhere other than where I am now to explore what the world hast to offer. It is a big part of what makes me ME...

Photography is something that I have always been interested in since as long as I can remember. I see photography as a passage to a better world and a more peaceful mind. Photography has the ability to freeze any moment in time so that it can be remembered and cherished... that alone leaves me speechless. Life is made up of countless moments that seem to just pass on by without us noticing... but when photography is used carefully, you have the ability to capture those moments in time and make them last forever. It gives you the ability to re-live the past.

In these particular photos, I traveled to a local place called The Cascades. It is a place that I can go to be one with nature and to really feel a part of the world. I can truly witness every wonder and sight that the world has to offer in an up close and personal way. It is a place that I go to contemplate, to clear my thoughts and focus on what's important in life. Being here and taking photos gives the illusion of everything around me disappearing... like nothing else matters. It is truly the one place I can be free and let my mind wonder. Having the ability to take photography just adds to the overall wonder, discovery, and joy in my life.
