The trip begins with a 14 hour flight with extra legroom due to the common sense rule applying after some persuasion. Touch down in LA and a short bus ride to my hostel, I shower, eat and crash out hard!! But not until after my first true American diner experience; the original Johnny Rockets burger bar ever built on Melrose Ave, West Hollywood.
My strongest first impression in the US was one that brought me mixed feelings...fast food here is VERY cheap and SUPER available!! everywhere you look you have options!! It's terrible and great at the same time.
The next thing i noticed was that the americans are actually quite friendly. if your lost or need to know which bus to take they will all stop and help if they can.
Just a quick first blog to get the ball rolling. The next one will be more comprehensive and cover my actual adventures. Plus i'll include a section on the travel group that made my Cali stay so much more fun.
