Preparing net is not easy - it takes time and needs patience. Men spend sometimes the whole day just sitting on the ground and preparing net.

Women get money, because they perfectly know how to plan and invest and they easily pay credit back. To work for them they mainly hire men - they are strong workers and it gives them time to take care of house and children

When fishing is not forbidden, men are spending couple of hours every early morning and every late evening on the water and fishing. Bukavu is situated by the lake so for many it's the only opportunity to earn money.
